Roy is married, with a grown up son and daughter
and two grandchildren. He retired early from his post as Marketing Manager with an
international company who had a manufacturing facility in Plymouth. Having
a lifetime interest in football, he managed and coached a youth side for
over twenty years, moving later into an administrative role with a youth
soccer league.
Roy Connelly has represented Tavistock North as a West Devon
Borough Councillor since 2003.
In 2001 Roy was elected to Devon County Council
representing Tavistock Rural, where he serves on the Community Services
Overview and Development Control Committees. Having a special interest in
Education and Social Services he has worked hard to bring major investment
projects to Tavistock schools.
