General Election

At long last Gordon Brown has announced the date for the General Election: Thursday 6th May, just as everyone expected!

The coming weeks are a crucial time for politics in Torridge and West Devon. We believe it is time for a fresh start – people want a full-time local MP who works for them.

On Wednesday 14 April the Liberal Democrats published their Manifesto - Our Manifesto

Public Meetings

Our Prospective MP, Adam Symons, will be holding public meetings with residents around the constituency.

The dates are:

• Saturday 17th April - Holsworthy Market Hall - 12pm-1pm
• Saturday 24th April - Tavistock Parish Church Hall - 12pm-1pm
• Monday 26th April - Jubilee Square (near the Quay), Bideford from 12:15 - Paddy (Lord) Ashdown and Adam Symons will be talking about “Building a Fairer Britain - A Fresh Start for Torridge and West Devon”
• Saturday 1st May - St Mary's Church Hall, Appledore - 12pm-1pm

General Election Hustings

There will be General Election Hustings for all Candidates

The dates are:

• Wednesday 14th April - The Wharf, Tavistock - 7.30pm
• Friday 16th April - Bideford Baptist Church, Mill Street, Bideford -  7.00pm (Questions start at 7.30pm)
• Wednesday 28th April - NFU Farmers' Hustings, Holsworthy Memorial Hall, 7.00pm
• Tuesday 4th May - The Plough, Great Torrington - 7.30pm
